Myspace Div Overlays
A Div is a container used in building webpages and often Myspace Layouts. This method usually consists of hiding the entire profile and replacing it with a Div over the top thus Myspace Div Overlay!
Div Myspace Overlay Features
Using a Div Overlay allows the Myspace Design to be customized a lot more than if you where to use the default method. Here are a few key points when thinking of turning your profile into a Div Overlay:
- You can place anything almost anywhere.
- You essentially start with a blank looking page allowing you to place only what you want on your Myspace Profile.
- You have less of a limit allowing you to have better effects for your content, backgrounds and headings.
This can be done with the default way but the Div Overlay method allows for it to be near enough how you want, i.e. when applying your custom headers and backgrounds using the default method, you can only do this to the current boxes, let's say for example you applied an image as a heading for your NAME, you would be limited to where you could put it. It would have to remain in the same area, top left of the page as that is where the default name stays. Doing it the custom way you could have a HUGE name at the top center of the page and then all the content and other things on your profile could go under that. See below for some examples if you are unsure of what we mean.
Div Overlay and Default method Comparison
Below are some thumbnails of each method aiming to show you the differences between the 2 methods. Click each thumbnail for a larger view.

Notice the difference now? Basically on the Div Overlay method we almost have 100% freedom to do what we want, it's as close as we are going to get to doing exactly what you want, the default method is limited but can still look amazing when designed correctly. The only downfall to the Div Method is the updating, sometimes this may be slightly different to the usual way of updating however a good Myspace Designer will supply annotations/instructions.
To Sum this Up
If you want to be 100% Unique then you need a Div Myspace Overlay. You will instantly look different the moment someone views your profile, the very first time I personally seen a profile in a Div Overlay method I was like "wow! how in the world did they do this, how do I do this?" I was so amazed that I soon started to learn how and learn I did. I would of never thought being so different would be so good but it was! Though I think it is the best method to be unique this is not always the case, it depends on the situation sometimes a design calls for the default method as it already looks amazing doing it the default way however the majority of the time the Div Overlay method wins!
